GovSec 2012 Attendance Increases by 29 Percent

GovSec 2012 - the Government Security Conference & Expo featuring the U.S. Law Enforcement Conference & Expo, which was held in conjunction with the Contingency Planning and Management Conference and Expo and the Network-Centric Security Conference & Exposition – grew attendance by 29 percent, attracting 3,300 attendees to its industry-leading trade show and expert-led educational sessions.

"This year GovSec brought together some of the top experts involved in governmentrelated security and the companies involved with providing the leading solutions to protect the homeland," said Don Berey, event director for GovSec. "This year's increase in attendance reinforces that GovSec is at the vortex of government security."

Among the highlights of the collocated conferences were addresses by:

  • Former Senate Majority Leader George J. Mitchell, who served as U.S. Special Envoy for Middle East Peace in the Obama Administration and discussed "Turmoil in the Middle East: What it Means for American Security"
  • Ralph S. Boelter, Assistant Director, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Counterterrorism Division, who talked about "Protecting the U.S. From Terrorist Attacks: The FBI Counterterrorism Division's Top Priority"
  • Gordon M. Snow, Assistant Director, FBI Cyber Division, who addressed "The FBI's Role in Combating Cybercrime"
