In-depth workshops include:
Dialog with a Dictator: Coming Face to Face with Saddam Hussein hosted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s InfraGard program features George Piro, the supervisory special agent who interviewed Hussein for six months before his execution.

Renowned security expert Ray Semko, presenter of the D*I*C*E briefings, will help employees of any agency recognize America’s adversaries, their targets and methods of operation and how to prevent these adversaries from exploiting our nation’s security and any enterprise’s security by effectively protecting classified, proprietary and sensitive information. Ray Semko is known for educating employees on security awareness of threats from espionage and terrorism, as well as enhancing employee awareness of OPSEC (operations security), INFOSEC (information security) and personnel security.

Federal Information Systems Security Educators’ Association will host a workshop on what federal employees need to know about information security. The workshop will cover computer attacks, how to recognize them and what to do if one is suspected.

The Bureau of Diplomatic Security, U.S. State Department will host two critical briefings on information assurance, including: Developing an Information Assurance Program for Executives and Information Assurance for Senior-Level Managers. The former will provide an overview of information assurance for executives including the requirements of the Federal Information Systems Management Act, recent findings from the Offices of Inspectors General as well as reports to the Office of Management and Budget. Information Assurance for Senior-Level Managers provides the knowledge and skills necessary to evaluate the components of an information assurance program in regard to critical business functions and federal security requirements.

The free Keynote Addresses include: Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Julie L. Myers opens the event, followed by the First Responder Keynote Gregory B. Cade, Assistant Administrator, FEMA, U.S. Fire Administration; the U.S. Law Keynote Greg Massa, Chief, National Joint Terrorism Task Force, Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Cyber Security Keynote Lauri Almann, Permanent Undersecretary of Defence for the Republic of Estonia.

Scheduled for April 23-24, 2008 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC, GovSec, U.S. Law and Ready is the largest event in the nation for those involved in national security.
