Newest Ed Tech Conference from 1105 Media to Focus on Advancing Student Achievement Through Innovative Thought & Technology

February 21, 2008, Chatsworth, CA—The Innovative Learning Conference (ILC) 2008, a new event dedicated to exploring the use of innovative technology and methodology in the K-12 education community, is seeking speaker proposals for the inaugural conference, taking place October 14 – 16, 2008, in San Jose, CA.

Co-produced and developed by FETC and CUE, longtime leaders in education technology conferences, this highly-anticipated event marks the return of a major education symposium to Northern California and will attract education leaders not only from Western states, but from all over the country. This interactive conference, dedicated to advancing student achievement through innovative thinking and technology, will feature hands-on workshops, concurrent sessions, meetings and exhibitions targeting teachers, principals, district administrators, curriculum designers, media specialists, technology directors and other educators.

“Thanks to the partnership between CUE and FETC, ILC 2008 is shaping up to be the first truly national conference to explore the entire spectrum of influences on student achievement, from technology to teaching practices,” said Michael Eason, Executive Director of ILC. “Although ILC 2008 is the inaugural event in this alliance, the conference has already generated tremendous interest within the education and technology communities, thanks to CUE’s record of achievement in the Western United States, and FETC’s long history of education technology leadership in the South and East.”

ILC organizers are particularly interested in speakers who can present 55-minute programs in the following focus areas:

  • Leadership and Administration – Use of technology as a strategic tool for school improvement and reform, including state technology grants or projects, on both an individual school as well as district level.
  • Teaching and Learning – Best practices, including project-based learning, that place a strong emphasis on teacher professional development, academic standards, and opportunities for learners to gain both academic and technology-oriented skills.
  • Innovation – Promote effective use of learning tools, appliances, and services that make effective learning and access to technology’s benefits available to all learners.
  • Technology Management – Management of infrastructure, security and tools to support learning including networking, instructional information processing and communication systems.
