Chatsworth, Calif., – Campus Technology, part of the Education division of 1105 Media, publishers of the monthly Campus Technology magazine and producers of two annual Campus Technology conferences, recently announced during Campus Technology 2010 in Boston, Mass. that Sande Johnson-Byers of the University of Louisville, Kentucky was the prize winner in the “We’ve Got You Covered” $20,000 Technology Giveaway drawing sponsored by GovConnection and Hewlett Packard Co
For 17 years, Campus Technology conferences and tradeshows (previously named Syllabus) have offered higher education technology professionals with a way to gain information, exchange ideas and collaborate with peers, technology experts and industry professionals in order to advance the use of technologies on their campuses for educational and administrative purposes.
The technology giveaway prize package, provided by GovConnection and Hewlett Packard Co., consisted of $20,000 worth of technology products that would outfit the three main areas in today’s higher education office environment: the data center; the office; and the mobile office (see the attached prize list for product details).
Campus Technology 2010 attendees, as well as the attendees of the co-located first annual AAEEBL World Conference were eligible to enter the drawing. Attendees were required to visit all three prize booth locations, each one situated in a different area of the exhibit hall, in order to qualify. The drawing was held, Wednesday, July 21, during the final hour that the conference’s exhibit hall was open.
“I look forward to working with the University of Louisville and helping them accomplish their goals of creating IT infrastructure that supports the needs of their students, faculty and staff,” said Robert Howard, President of GovConnection. “Delivering the latest IT products and solutions to the educational community is a mission that GovConnection and Hewlett Packard take great pride in.”
Ms. Johnson-Byers expressed, “I am so thrilled to accept the Campus Technology giveaway on behalf of the University of Louisville. We appreciate the generosity of GovConnection and Hewlett Packard technology. In these tight budget times, I assure you it will be put to good use and allow us to better serve our faculty, staff and students.”
Wendy LaDuke, president and group publisher of Campus Technology stated, “The giveaway provided a wonderful chance to partner with great companies to give back to hard-working education professionals and under-resourced campuses. We look forward to future opportunities to build on what we’ve begun.”
