(FALLS CHURCH, VA., March 24, 2009) - 1105 Government Information Group announced that Government Computer News (GCN) won a Jesse H. Neal Award from the American Business Media at its annual awards luncheon in New York. GCN won the gold award in the Best Department category for its GCN Lab Reviews.
This is the fifth year that GCN has won a Neal award and the second year in a row that GCN Lab has won Best Department.
Considered the “Pulitzer Prize of the business press” the Neal Awards are one of the industry’s most prestigious and highest editorial honors.
The GCN Lab provides evaluations, detailed performance analysis, feature profiles and cost comparisons of information technology products being purchased by the government. It also outlines tips for practical applications, along with pointers on product/service benefits and pitfalls.
“This award is a tribute to the hard work and focus of the GCN Lab team in evaluating products with a clear aim of helping our government IT readers do their jobs better”, said Wyatt Kash Editor in Chief of GCN.
GCN magazine is the technology authority for government. It focuses on how to buy, build and manage the technologies that run government. A key component in supporting that mission centers around the reviews and comparisons conducted in the GCN Lab. These regular reports are featured in the magazine and offer in-depth product and solution evaluations that provide insight into the effective deployment of IT budgets to achieve agency missions.
